ChalkStar Films are proud to announce the launch of Couch Sessions, a series of live and filmed music sessions showcasing bands and solo artists in Oxford.
Produced by ChalkStar Films, the sessions will be hosted Upstairs at the Phoenix, in the historic bar above the 100 year old cinema in Jericho, and recorded for release on a dedicated youtube channel www.youtube.com/oxfordcouchsessions.
The Couch Sessions was first established in September 2013 by ChalkStar Films to give musicians a much needed platform. By filming at The Phoenix Picturehouse, they are building on the venue’s already successful relationship with live music, creating a unique platform for Oxford’s vibrant music scene.
Martyn Chalk, Director of ChalkStar Films: “This is a very exciting development for Oxford’s music scene. By working with The Phoenix Picturehouse, we are able to connect local musicians to a much wider audience, producing high quality music content in one of the best locations that Oxford has to offer. It is a logical progression for the Couch Sessions and one that I hope will be around for many years to come”
The first of the new look Couch Sessions was recorded on the 2nd of February and featured Steve Morano, who is signed to Oxfordshire based label Collision Music. Steve said: “It’s great to work with such a friendly, professional and creative production team who are offering new artists a platform to introduce their talents.”
ChalkStar Films is Oxford’s foremost, innovative film and video production company established by Martyn Chalk.
